76 Upper Ground – Southbank London SE1 9PZ

Ruddy is delighted to have successfully supported Multiplex on their latest development, completed at the end of 2024. Ruddy’s WC fit-out works included the WC cores and shower/changing areas, covering the ground floor changing and locker room, accessible WCs, and the Level 05 core washrooms.

The 76 Upper Ground development, also known as 76 Southbank, is a significant refurbishment and extension project located on London’s South Bank. The building, originally designed by Sir Denys Lasdun and completed in 1983 as an office and client marketing centre for IBM, is now being transformed into a modern, flexible workspace while preserving its architectural heritage.

The overall building refurbishment aims to retain 80% of the existing structure, significantly reducing embodied carbon. The building which offers circa 420,000 sqft (39,000 sqm) of office will incorporate renewable energy sources, including air-source heat pumps and a bio solar rooftop, aligning with its status as an all-electric building targeting high sustainability standards including BREEAM Outstanding (Office) BREEAM Excellent (Retail) & NABERS 5-Star Rating
